ACCREDITATION AND
MEMBERSHIP

Accreditation and membership are marks of quality. SIU has been accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Comoros since 2023 with Commercial Registration No KM-HAH-2023-01-B00008-14, with an operational and academic office based in Moroni, Comoros.

Our accreditation and memberships mean that the university has undergone a formal evaluation process to ensure that it meets the standards and requirements set by the Ministry and operates with integrity. This evaluation process typically includes a review of the university’s curriculum, faculties, and other important factors for providing high-quality online education. At SIU, we offer programs that focus on efficient, academically qualified student learning and provide all the resources and support necessary for our students to succeed. Through our institutional accreditation, both quality assurance and continuous improvement are valued.

SIU is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). AASHE is a non-profit membership organization that empowers higher education staff, faculty, administrators, and students to be effective change agents and drivers of sustainability innovation.

This membership proves the importance that SIU gives to sustainability, similarly to the most important international universities, which allows our university to rise to the level of a “Responsible University.”

Our university is also member of (STARS) (The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System) which is a program of AASHE and which represents transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance.

Quality Matters (QM) is a quality assurance organization focused on faculty professional development.
QM provides a network of professional instructors to help improve and nurture all aspects of online courses.
The SIU’ courses are certified QM, which is a proof of the high quality of the university’s online teaching.
